About Us
Sunset Pet Care was founded by Kristen Stotsenberg. Kristen has been pet sitting and volunteering with animals for many years. Growing up her family always had Golden Retrievers, Labs and the occasional turtle, fish, snake and rabbit.
During the 2007 fires, Kristen and her husband Jed spent time tagging dogs and cats for The Escondido Humane Society in order to transport them to another shelter. Luckily, the animals never had to be moved but it was a life-changing experience. Pets were found running scared in the streets and brought in where there were few volunteers and staff left to care for them.
Kristen received a degree in human development emphasizing gerontology from CSU San Marcos where she interned with the elderly. Wanting to start her own care business, she decided to foray that into a service for animals.
The decision to start her own pet care business has been a long time coming and a true labor of love. "Each day that I am able to do what I love and be in the company of animals to help their well being is an amazing one."

We pride ourselves upon accommodating the needs of each individual pet and owner. We will strive everyday to show our animal and human clients how important they are by always exceeding expectations. Continued growth through experience and furthered education is important to our success and the enrichment of the lives of pets and their family members.
